OUR ENVIRONMENTAL PHILOSOPHY
Australian Commercial buildings are responsible for the production of approximately 10% of the Nation's CO2 production. On a world scale, Australia is a major CO2 polluter per capita. The Commercial building industry has an obligation to address these environmental impacts.
Quintessential is committed to improving the environmental performance of the buildings and projects that it is involved in. Quintessential recognises the contribution that they can make to reduce the environmental footprint on the world. They have adopted an efficient holistic 'whole of building' approach in construction, operation and maintenance.
When acquiring new buildings, Quintessential will target a minimum 4 Star Green Star certification and 4.5 Star NABERS base building energy rating. With existing buildings with which the Directors are associated, they regularly assess opportunities to improve the overall performance of buildings.
Sustainability is an important factor for investors - the long-term value and marketability of the asset will be based on its ability to meet mandatory green ratings to attract and retain key tenants. Quintessential uses NABERS and Green Star Rating to achieve the outcomes that our tenants require to meet their company policy for their office accommodation. Major tenants require a minimum of 4.5 Star NABERS base building energy rating.

Conducted a full refurbishment, which included taking the building to over 4 star NABERS base building energy rating.
Launched a 'Going Green' Public relations campaign to property leaders and landlords about the benefits of Going Green the requirement to reduce their carbon foot print/CO2 emissions.
The significant refurbishment for environmental improvement was recognised and awarded a $500,000 grant under the Green Building Fund Grant. From the AusIndustry, an Australian Government Initiative.
